Ruin to Resurrection
Thu, 5 Apr 2012He is Risen - but some of our urban areas still lie in ruin.
This time of year always reminds me of the great contrast I see everyday in our urban areas. Scenes of death but also resurrection. Signs of the cross and also the empty tomb.
When Jesus entered the city for the last time during his triumphant entry, scripture notes with striking contrast to the scene at hand, "Jesus wept over the city". He saw the spiritual, moral and physical ruin of the city. He knew that the only solution to this ruin was his own death and mighty resurrection.
So as we go into this passion week to understand the full context of Jesus' mission, let us remember that he wept, he cried, he bled for those living in the city. What did he see? Some of the same things we still do. Which is why CityConnexx cares for the city and wants to see ruin turned into resurrection. How about you? Come join us to help be a part of the solution.
