CityConnexx St. Louis Mission TripSun, 18 Mar 2012 Teens and adults from Anamosa, Iowa drove 5 hours to come to St. Louis on their spring break mission trip to be the hands and feet of Jesus to CityConnexx's newest city. 30 team members served at an urban Christian school. They raked, cleaned, pulled up tile, knocked down bathroom walls in the gym, painted gates and fencing around the soccer field, and many other projects to bless the school which reaches out to low income families. Principal Debbie Dykhouse says, "We are grateful beyond words"! Besides completing a multitude of work projects for the school, the teens presented a music and puppet program at Ferguson Church of the Nazarene. Later in the afternoon, they went to "Tent City" - the unofficial city of the homeless, to distribute care packages that people from all over Anamosa donated to the team. They spent time talking and praying with many of the homeless who live in Tent City. When asked what would be their most memorable "take away" from their time in Saint Louis, many said the opportunity to minister at our school and to the homeless. The school held a special assembly on Monday for the team to share about their experience. This urban school surprised the Anamosa team at the conclusion of their mission trip by giving them their very own sling bag with a water bottle, coffee mug, and assorted goodies included. Mrs. Dykhouse concluded, "We thank them for the blessing they bestowed on us. May God richly bless them in ways abundantly more than they could possibly imagine." CityConnexx is sponsored by Compassion International. A program of YPN
