It's not a Christian field trip: encourage, experience & explore

Yep, it's always fun to do things with friends, yes it's fun to check out new places, yes it's fun to have some free time to cut loose and enjoy river rafting, hiking or an ocean. Yes, Yes, Yes again!

HOWEVER! This is real life in these communities. You will be on the ground serving alongside the ministries that are in the trenches everyday trying to reach and win the souls of their neighborhood children, youth and adults. There is something to be said for seeing things the way God sees them. 

Our ministry sites will help you feel what they feel and you will know you are making and receiving an impact. Life is about bulding relationships and you will stay, play, pray, serve and help reach a community. It's about people, not projects.

On your first evening, after settling in and getting some dinner, you will receive an orientation from your ministry site leader. This will give you a better idea of the area you will be serving. The community, it's history and where it's headed will be discussed. The morning of day 2 after breakfast, CityConnexx and our ministry site leader will provide some training and preparation for your week ahead. We will also discuss the weeks schedule and the type of ministry and outreach you will be doing. Depending on your exact city and ministry, you will serve in that local community as well as several other missional opportunities around the city. 

At the end of each day, we encourage your group to have some time to debrief, reflect on what you've experienced, let God speak to you.

During the week, we want relationships to take priority over projects. If God is opening doors for your group to interact with folks, put down the shovel or paint brush and engage. The fence can wait.

We also build time in the schedule for you to explore the area you're serving. Get out and about. Take in some of the local flavor. We believe in work hard, play hard. Have some fun. Our national staff & local ministries will help guide you to local attractions and activities
