One benefit of advancing technology is the speed at which the word gets out. From shining a spotlight on injustice to sharing a great bargain—simply post your message and zip 100, 1000, 100,000 people see and respond.

Sometimes the response is altered behavior. People see how their purchase, their action, their lifestyle impacts others and they decide, “I’m not going to do that rather I’ll do this.” or, “I’m not going to support that position or buy this product. Rather I’ll do this…” 

When it comes to short-term missions—I want to get the word out. I want people to stop treating short-term missions like a product you buy and more like a lifestyle you adopt. I want us to stop consuming missions as if they were a candy-bar!

Instead we need to consider why we should intentionally get out of our cultural comfort zones. Further, we need to consider howour actions impact others. Finally, we should consider what actions are most faithful to Jesus’ teachings.
